Collect visitor details in a showroom

The Ask data function lets you request information from users who want to open a showroom.

When this option is on, the visitor has to fill in a form with their details before they can view the content.

The information they enter is recorded automatically in your ITGallery account.

How to turn on the ask data function

1. Go to the Showrooms module from the main menu.
2. Click Edit on the showroom you want to change.
3. Turn on the Ask data option in the settings.
4. Save the changes to the showroom.

What details the visitor is asked for

By default, the form asks for:

• first name
• surname
• email

You can also turn on the option to ask for a phone number.

What happens when a visitor fills in the form

Every time a user opens the showroom through this function:

• their details are recorded automatically in ITGallery
• a new contact is created in the Contacts module if it did not exist before
• the contact is categorised as:
  • Type: Potential client
  • Source: Showroom

How to check who has opened the showroom

You can review this information from:

• the Visits tab of the showroom
• the individual contact record, within Follow-up

There you can see the date on which the user opened the showroom.
