Add additional concepts to a sale
Add additional concepts to a sale when you need to include amounts that do not correspond directly to an artwork in your inventory, but that should appear as their own line within the sale.
You can use this option to add products, services or other concepts within the same transaction.

Add a concept line

- Go to the Sales module.
- Create a new sale or edit an existing one.
- Find the lines of the sale.
- Click the Add concept button.
- Fill in the description of the concept.
- Enter the unit price.
- Add a discount, if relevant.
- Select the tax that applies, if relevant.
- Save your changes.
- The concepts you add appear alongside the artworks in the final summary of the sale.
What information you can fill in for a concept
When adding a concept you can specify:
- Concept: description of the product or service.
- Unit price: amount of the concept.
- Discount: discount applied to the concept, if relevant.
- Tax: type of tax that applies to the concept.
You can select a specific tax for that concept or apply a global tax to the sale afterwards.
Difference between a concept and an additional charge
An additional concept is added as its own line within the sale.
Use it when you want to sell or record a particular product or service, such as a catalogue, a book, fees, commissions or anything else that should appear separately identified.
An additional charge is added as a complementary amount within the sale, without being treated as a main line alongside the artworks or concepts.
Use additional charges for amounts linked to the transaction, such as added costs or general adjustments to the sale.
Tip
Use Add concept when the amount should appear identified as its own line of the sale. Use an Additional charge when you only need to add a complementary amount to the transaction.
