Classify contacts by type
Classify contacts by type
The contact type lets you record what relationship each contact has with the gallery and organise them better within ITGallery.

Add a contact type
- Go to Contacts > List.
- Create a new contact or open the record of an existing one.
- In the Type field, select one or several categories.
- Save your changes.
Tip
The same contact can have several types linked to them. If they belong to more than one category, they appear in the searches for all of them.

Relationship with the mailing lists

If you turn on the Save for mailing option when creating a contact, ITGallery suggests including them in the mailing lists linked to the contact types you have selected.
For example, if you mark a contact as Collector and Client, the system proposes adding them to the mailing lists linked to both categories.
Before saving the contact, you can review and change those lists to decide which ones to include them in, and you can also add the contact to other existing lists created in your mailing.
Tip
Use contact types to filter your database better and make it easier to create email marketing campaigns.
