Connect Stripe with ITGallery

Connect your Stripe account with ITGallery to accept online payments from the App and receive the money in the bank account linked to Stripe.

What is Stripe

Stripe is an online payment processing platform. It lets you accept domestic and international payments without needing a card terminal.

Stripe is the provider ITGallery uses to handle online payments.

Stripe availability

The service depends on Stripe and is only available in the countries where Stripe operates.

You can check the available countries on the Stripe website:

https://stripe.com/global

If you do not have a Stripe account yet, have your gallery's tax, banking and contact information to hand before starting the process.

To create the account, you will need this information to hand:

  • Company tax number, EIN or the tax identification used in your country.
  • National ID, tax number or social security number, depending on your country.
  • Your bank account details, such as the IBAN.
  • Contact information, such as email, website and phone number.

For non-European accounts:

  • 3.9% USD.

For European accounts:

  • Payments with European cards: 2.4%.
  • Payments with non-European cards: 3.9%.

If the payment is made in a currency other than the currency of your bank account, Stripe will charge an additional 2% for the conversion.

Tip

These prices are final.

The ITGallery fee of 0.5% is already included.

How and when you will receive the money

You will receive the payments in the bank account you linked when creating your Stripe account.

Stripe schedules automatic transfers on a regular basis. By default, the schedule depends on the country of the account:

  • 2 working days: Australia and the United States.
  • 4 working days: New Zealand.
  • 5 working days: Malaysia.
  • 7 working days: India.
  • 7 calendar days: all countries, except those listed in other categories.
  • 30 calendar days: Brazil.
  • Once a week: Japan.

Change the transfer schedule

If you prefer to receive transfers weekly or monthly, you can change the schedule from your Stripe account settings.

Under the Change schedule option, in the Transfers area, you can check which transfer schedule has been assigned to your account by default.

For weekly transfers, the administrator must set the day of the week on which the transfers will reach the bank account.

For monthly transfers, the administrator must set the day of the month on which the transfers will reach the bank account. If the 31st is chosen, transfers will be sent on the last day of the month in those months with fewer days.

Currencies available for charges

Stripe lets you accept payments in more than 135 currencies.

Exactly which ones are available may depend on the country of your Stripe account, the payment method used and the currency linked to your bank account.

If the payment is made in a currency other than the settlement currency of your bank account, Stripe may convert the amount into the relevant currency.

You can find up-to-date information about accepted currencies in the Stripe documentation:

https://docs.stripe.com/currencies

If the payment is made in a currency other than the currency of your bank account, Stripe will charge an additional 2% for the conversion.

Depending on the card used, some currencies may not be available. For example, American Express may not accept payments in certain currencies. Always check the up-to-date information in the Stripe documentation.

Issue a refund from Stripe

Refunds are handled from the Stripe dashboard.

  1. Go to the Stripe dashboard.
  2. Click Payments, in the left-hand bar.
  3. Find the payment you want to refund.
  4. Open the payment details.
  5. Click Refund payment, in the top right corner.
  6. Choose between a full refund or a partial refund.
  7. Click Refund.

Stripe issues refunds immediately. However, in most cases the money can take between 5 and 10 working days to appear in the client's bank account.
