Artwork prices

ITGallery lets you record the price of an artwork in different currencies, as well as different prices within the same currency, using the Price type field.

How to add prices to an artwork

  1. Go to the Artworks module from the main menu.
  2. Select the artwork you want to edit.
  3. Go to the Prices section of the record.
  4. Add one or several prices or currencies, as you need.
  5. Save your changes.

Recording the price when creating an artwork

The Price field is mandatory when creating an artwork.

If you do not have the price at that moment, you can tick the No price option.

If you select Add price, you will need to fill in:

  • amount
  • currency
  • price type (optional)

Add several prices

You can add more than one price using the Add price button.

Bear in mind that:

  • there cannot be empty prices
  • there can only be one price per combination of currency and price type

Price types

The Price type field lets you record different prices for the same artwork within the same currency.

For example:

  • €20,000
  • €25,000 (Framed)

Important recommendation

If you use a main price, it is best not to assign it any label.

That way:

  • it will be the price shown by default
  • you will avoid having to select it manually in other features when exporting artwork price information

Tip

Use whatever naming suits you best, but bear in mind that:

  • The comma ( , ) is used to separate different labels (price types)
  • To separate words within the same label, use spaces or other characters (such as hyphens or slashes)

Correct examples:

  • Framed
  • Unframed
  • Special edition
  • Large format
  • Collector-edition
  • Installation / mounting

Incorrect example:

  • Framed, gilded

In this case, the system will read it as two different labels.

Currencies

You can record prices in different currencies for the same artwork.

The system uses the currency set on your account by default, but you can change it or add new currencies manually.

Important: ITGallery does not convert automatically. You must enter each amount manually.

Artist amount

You can set the amount due to the artist for each artwork, either as a percentage or as a fixed sum.
