Set up languages in a showroom

You can set up a showroom in several languages to adapt its content to different audiences and share it according to the recipient's language.

The showroom will show the information for each language and let the user switch between them using a selector.

How to add another language to a showroom

  1. Go to the Showrooms module from the main menu.
  2. Click Edit on the showroom you want to translate.
  3. Select the new language from the Select a language drop-down.
  4. Fill in the information in the new language.
  5. Click Save showroom.

Main language of the showroom

When you first create a showroom, it is generated in the main language of your ITGallery account.

What content you need to translate in each language

When you add a new language, you will usually only need to adapt the content fields belonging to the showroom itself, such as:

  1. title
  2. subtitle
  3. top text
  4. bottom text

What changes automatically when you translate a showroom

As well as the texts you enter manually, the showroom automatically adapts various elements to the selected language. This includes the general navigation and interface texts of the showroom and buttons such as I'm interested, Buy, Reservation and View on wall.

How artwork information works in several languages

If your artwork records also have information recorded in several languages, the showroom will automatically show that information in the selected language.

This affects fields such as:

  1. artwork description
  2. technique
  3. material

If an artwork has no content available in the selected language, the showroom will show the information in the main language of your ITGallery account.

Tip

Use the Edit selected tool in the artworks list to edit several artworks at once and speed up translating information into different languages.

Share a showroom in different languages

Each language of a showroom generates its own specific URL and its own QR linked to that URL.

This lets you share the showroom directly in the language you want, for example in:

  • newsletters segmented by language
  • international sales campaigns
  • personalised communications to clients

To copy the URL of a particular language:

  1. Open the showroom record.
  2. Select the language you want.
  3. Copy the URL shown in the Summary tab.

Language selector within the showroom

When a showroom has more than one language set up, a language selector automatically appears in the top right.

This lets the user switch manually between the languages available.
