Use mailing templates
Use mailing templates to reuse newsletter designs you created earlier and apply them when creating new campaigns.
A mailing template is a reusable structure you can use as the basis for different campaigns.
The recommended flow is to create the template in the ITGallery template editor and then select it when creating a mailing campaign. Once loaded into Sendy, you can make final adjustments before sending.
Create a template with the ITGallery editor
The ITGallery template editor lets you create reusable newsletters connected to the information in your account.
From that editor you can prepare the design of the newsletter and add content related to your database, such as artworks or showrooms.
To see how to create and set up a template from ITGallery, see the article Create or edit a template.
Use a template in a campaign
Once the template is created in ITGallery, you can select it when creating a new mailing campaign.
When you do, the template loads into Sendy as the basis of the campaign.

- Go to the Mailing module.
- Open Templates.
- Select the template you want to use.
- Click the Use icon.
- Review the content loaded into Sendy.
- Save your changes or carry on preparing the send.
Make final adjustments in Sendy
After loading a template into a campaign, you can make final adjustments in Sendy before sending it.
For example, you can change text, check links, swap an image or adjust particular details of the content.

To see how to edit the content of a campaign in Sendy, see the article Build or edit the content of a campaign in Sendy.
Create a campaign directly in Sendy
You can also build a campaign from scratch in Sendy, without starting from a template created in ITGallery.

This option can be useful for one-off sends or very simple communications.
Bear in mind that if you build the campaign directly in Sendy, that structure will not appear as a template within the ITGallery templates module.
Import an HTML template from another system
If you already have a template created in another mailing system, you can import it as HTML code to reuse it in ITGallery.
This option is useful if you are coming from another tool and want to make use of a structure you already had.

- Export the template as HTML from the tool where you created it.
- Copy the HTML code of the template.
- Go to the Mailing module.
- Create a new template or campaign.
- Open the Import HTML file editing option.
- Paste in the code you imported.
- Save your changes.
Tip
If you want to export a template from Mailchimp, see the article Export templates from Mailchimp.
Create a template from the HTML editor
You can also create a template in ITGallery by pasting in the HTML code of a newsletter created earlier in another mailing system.
To do this, you first need to export the template from that tool as HTML and then copy the code into a new ITGallery template.

- Create or find the template in the mailing tool you were using.
- Export the template as HTML.
- Save the HTML code as a file on your computer.
- Open the HTML file with a text editor, such as Notepad on Windows or CODA on Mac.
- Copy all the HTML code.
- Go to the Mailing module in ITGallery.
- Open All templates.
- Click Create a new template.
- Fill in the name of the new template.
- Click HTML source to reach the code of the template.
- Delete the existing code.
- Paste in the HTML code you copied.
- Make any adjustments you need, such as importing the images or checking text and links.
- Save the template.
Tip
After importing the code, review the template before using it in a campaign.
Some imported templates can keep links, variables or code belonging to the mailing system they were exported from.
Review an imported template before using it
After importing an HTML template, always review the content before using it in a real campaign.
Some imported templates can keep links, internal text or variables belonging to the system where they were created.
Pay particular attention to:
- Text and headings.
- Images.
- Links.
- Social networks.
- The unsubscribe link.
- Variables inherited from other systems.
Tip
Every campaign must include an unsubscribe link. If you import an HTML template, check that the unsubscribe link works correctly before sending the campaign.
